I've been talking with Richard Bliss of GWAVA (who has in turn been talking
to Novell and the BrainShare team), and Richard asked me to get this
information to the group.
GWAVACon is being held in Las Vegas January 24-27 (with the 24th being a
bonus day). Contrary to some misconceptions, GWAVACon is not a "GWAVA
marketing conference". Rather it is a Novell Collaborations conference,
sponsored by GWAVA. This year, GWAVACon had planned (prior to the
BrainShare cancellation announcement) to have sessions on not only
GroupWise, but also Linux, OES, ZEN, and Teaming.
Novell, working closely with GWAVA, is looking to expand the session
offerings for GWAVACon. There are presently 40 Novell sessions scheduled (of
about 120 total sessions so far) and means are being investigated to expand
that number.
In order to help accommodate as many prospective BrainShare attendees as
possible, GWAVA has extended their early-bird registration price of $595 to
January 5, 2009. In addition, if you use the promotional code of
"brainshare" when you register, you will receive an additional $100
discount.
If Richard Bliss has some time, he'll try to jump over here. As you might
imagine, today has turned into a pretty busy day for him!
