Our our BM 3.8 SP5 server crashed last week that was running NW 6.5 SP6 OS. Our backup failed to restore to a new hardrive, so we just did a fresh install and pulled tree info from our OES Linux server. I think we are ready to install Border Manager again but need to ask advice about correct procedure.
Should I install BM 3.8 SP5 first, then upgrade to 3.9 SP2 or just go direct to BM 3.9 SP2? I have the old config files I can copy back to their previous directories and assume edir info is still there in regards to filters, etc.

Thanks,

We ugraded from BM3.8sp5 to BM3.9SP2 last night. We tested it the last week in our test environment. In de testfase everything went well.

This morning I installed the bm39_iman27 plugins into iManager 2.7.3. There were no errors during installation.
Under Roles and tasks-Bordermanager there are only 4 items (Access Rules, Legacy Filter Configuration, Proxy Services and VPN Services). In the test there were a few more items
(Access Rules, Easy Filter Configuration, Filter Maintenance, Legacy Filter Configuration, List All Firewall Policies, Proxy Services, VPN Services).

While opening for example Proxy Services in production, there are a lot of lines on the logger screen with count and a number. At last there is the Error: NDS Error -610

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Erik
proxy.cfg
ResolveProxyIPAddress=1

Commercial wildcard certificate installed for domain.org

Yest when user needs to authnticate in IE to proxy (on machines with no
clntrust)
it gets warning that certificate does not match the site, as the address is
https://border:445/xxxxxxx

It seems that resolve did NOT resolve the full name border.domain.org but
only the short name border

How can I get it right?

Thanks

I recently setup a new BM3.9 with sp2 on a NW6.5sp7 server.
It's been abending lately and having difficulty isolating the problem.
I have a ticket open with Novell but they're not sure yet either and want me
to provide a core dump.
I was looking over craig johnson's website for possible solutions and
noticed the tuneup suggestions for a bm server.
I've used these on my last BM server without any issues but I'm not sure if
they really apply or needed if using BM3.9sp2 on NW6.5sp7.
Would it make sense to use the tuneup suggestions on this version of BM/NW?
TIA
