Hello,

we are using BM38SP5 for surfing the net. Now we want to implement the Web Security Service ( URL Filtering, Anti Spyware ) from Messagelabs.
How do I have configure this on the BM ?
I received from Messagelabs the Proxy Service Port 3128 .
They told me to redirect all HTTP traffic to the following hostname as our upstream proxy EMEA.
Last they give me the Web Security Service Proxy Address.

Thanks in advance

Hello,
I have a java app that won't work through the proxy. (The developer has confirmed that it won't, it needs direct access to the server.)
Is there a way of bypassing the proxy for java traffic to an ip range (x.x.x.1-245).
I know I may be able to use dynamic nat and open 512 ports for tcp and udp but I think this will turn the firewall into swiss cheese.

Any ideas.

Thank ypou

Have been experiencing FTP proxy problems since i inherited the support function for the proxies about 6 months back; inconsistent events, eg, using WS_FTP LE just tried downloading from a certain site and was successful 4 out of 10 times; when proxies bypassed, 100% success; NW65SP8, edir 885, BM39SP2 environment; have tried unloading IPFLT - did not help; noticed in the Proxy Console FTP Statistics screen that the count of FTP failures is very similar to the count of Internal Cache Errors, should that point me towards the culprit?

any help greatly appreciated!

Hi all: We use proxy.pac files for configuring both firefox
(v3.5x) and internet explorer (v8). This contents off our
proxy.pac file (for IT personnel) is below:

function FindProxyForURL(url, host)
{
// variable strings to return
//
var proxy_yes = "PROXY 10.1.1.19:8080";
var proxy_no = "DIRECT";
//
//
// Don't proxy local URLs
//
if (shExpMatch(url, "*localhost*"))   { return proxy_no; }
if (shExpMatch(url, "*.xxxxxx.ad*"))  { return proxy_no; }
if (shExpMatch(url, "*.yyyyyy.cxm*")) { return proxy_no; }
if (shExpMatch(url, "*://10.*"))      { return proxy_no; }
if (shExpMatch(url, "ftp://*"))       { return proxy_no; }
//
//
// Don't proxy these special internet sites
// Example: if (shExpMatch(url,
"http://www.otherwebsite.com*")) { return proxy_no; }
//
//
// Proxy if PC is on local LAN
//
if (isInNet(myIpAddress(), "10.1.0.0", "255.255.0.0"))
{ return proxy_yes; }
else if (isInNet(myIpAddress(), "10.2.0.0", "255.255.0.0"))
{ return proxy_yes; }
else if (isInNet(myIpAddress(), "10.3.0.0", "255.255.0.0"))
{ return proxy_yes; }
else { return proxy_no; }
}

I have no issues when using this file with firefox.
However, with IE the browser starts slowly (to load first
page) and on our two virtual machines (used for external
access) IE does not function at all.

Setting proxy manually in IE works fine so I am thinking
something is wrong with proxy.pac. I don't see anything
wrong here but could use a second or third pair of eyes.

Thanks, Chris.
