Hello,

I am having trouble running the GroupWise 7 Client (version 7.0.3 HP4) on Windows 7. When I open it, I enter my password, then it hangs at the splash screen and won't go any further.

I've tried running the executable in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3 and Windows 2000, but haven't had any luck. Has anyone experienced any issues like this?

One of our users was playing with toolbars he says. Now he can't open groupwise. He gets a grpwise.exe caused and erro, send report type message. When I log in as him on my pc I get the same. I have a few 6.5 clients around, so I logged into one of them as him and it opens OK. All his mail is there and it works fine. Whe I use the 7.x WebAccess login, his email is fine. Is there a way to start GW client 7.x in "safe mode" with a switch? What else should I do?

I'm not sure why it matters with over 20000 opened emails and a handful of unopened in the mailbox but who can figure the guys in charge. I ran an analyze fix but it didn’t help. It seems the number next to the mailbox on the client is giving a false reading. Any ideas how to fix this?

I want to swap out his current Userxxx.db file with a backup version.
Open Groupwise as that user. Export the address books to NAB files to his hard drive.
Exit Groupwise.
Reload the original, newer Userxxx.db file.
Import the nab files to replace current books and accept accolades.
Will this work and is there a downside?

Hi,

Hopefully a quick question.

Is there any benefit to creating/storing folders in your Groupwise client
(7.0.3) within the cabinet as opposed to not? I hope that made sense?

I have a user who must have hundreds of folders and they have not been
created in the cabinet, rather they are in a flat structure along with
Mailbox/Trash/Sent Items etc. Apart from the navigational problems, I just
wanted to understand whether this would cause any other problems with say
archiving?

Many thanks
Mike

When a user with Proxy Access to a certain mailbox opens a forwarded (as attachment) message in this mailbox by using the Quickview Attachment Window and next tries to open the enclosed attachment the Groupwise Client gives a "c081" error, Missing BLOB file on add/modify. This only happens when the user with Proxy Access en the 'certain mailbox' exist on different PostOffices.
When the same message is opened by the same Proxy user, but now from the Mailbox folder (and not via the Quickview) the forwarded message and attachment can be opened without any problem.

Our Groupwise Agents and Clients are GW7sp3HotPatch4.

Can anybody out there reproduce this at their Groupwise environment? Or even better, does someone have an idea about the cause and/or solution?

Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

I have a Mitel TAPI driver installed on a system I am doing some testing with. Apparently it was intended for an Outlook based system, and in Outlook, you actually have an option for TAPI integration on the client. You need to specifically tell it to prefix a 0 for external calls.

As far as I am aware, this option is not available in GroupWise. Can anyone tell me otherwise?

If not, any suggested workarounds?

I know if it was written for Outlook it probably won't work 100% with GW, but are there any options for configuring how the client interacts with the TAPI driver anywhere??

Thanks

Dave

I'm running GW 7.0.3 (netware 6.5sp7)
Sometimes he receives a message and he cannot view the body of it. In
headers:

When we use the Groupwise client, the message appears fine. Both souces

By this I mean, is it possible to construct a link, or program command + some sort of identifier, than will allow the user to trigger the Groupwise Client opening up to a specific mail item?
With Outlook, links that look like:
"http://127.0.0.1:4664/openemail&product=18?id=EF0000003CE80D429E22C64099 8AFC794DC5BEF5447F2000&action=d&s=V0jcO4bMjh0MREuV y-um7645re8"

Can be constructed, and then embedded in anything, and if the user clicks on that link then Outlook with launch to that item, whether or not Outlook was running at the time.

I'm interested in being able to index multiple systems and present various types of results to a user in a single place.

Hello,

I'm using Groupwise 7.0.3 under Windows XP (office PC, I'm not the admin - the IT guys are clueless about the problem).

From time to time, I can't open an attachment by double clicking on it or by right click > open / right click > save as
Until this morning, closing/reopening Groupwise was solving the problem (like here).

Since this morning, I can't open the attachments in an external software (ie Adobe Reader, Word, Excel...) or save them, only for some specific messages. Closing/Reopening Groupwise doesn't change anything (same for Rebooting Windows). These specific messages can be from colleagues (same system) or from external sources (other systems)...
Does anyone know the fix to that issue ?

For the record, my PC was updated this morning (some Windows security fix + Office 2007 was updated to SP2) - don't know if it's relevant...

Many thanks
Sebastien

The items are there (they are perfectly shown in webaccess), but the're not visible within the client. The calender is empty, and after scrolling forward a few weeks, some items reappear. After changing the calender view, the items are gone again, or different items appear!! Very strange.
I restored a previous backup and then restored old mails.
It would appear that I couldn’t restore ALL mails
My user has the missing mail on her remote installation on her portable PC
So as not to lose these mails she syncs only on the last 10 days
Is there any way I can restore her remote folders back to the postoffice?
I thought possibly archiving the files to a local directory, doing a total sync and her mailbox and then putting the archived files back into her remote groupwise and then resync.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
