iPrint ont Terminal Server 2003 - Wrong User

Hello everybody,

I have a very strange problem on iPrint (client 5.30) on a terminal 2003 server.
When user A is logged (with a remote session) in everything is fine with iPrint printers. When user B connects (via remote session) the iPrint printer is still fine, but the Username (ldap user) is user A. This happens complete random. One time the LDAP username is correct, and the next time it's the wrong username.

I have also over 10 terminal servers where i have no problems at all with iPrint. Everything works fine. It's just this one terminal server...

Normally i really don't care about the username off an printjob, but we have a print server with printcards and every user have its own print card bind to his username.

Hope maybe somebody has a clue!

iprint jobs not printing

I'm running iprint on a netware 6.5 server and I'm having some problems with print jobs sent from various applications including firehouse and microsoft publisher.

Here's the problem: when printing from the application, the application says it could not print. The iprint icon in the system tray says the job printed, but it printed zero pages. Depending on the application, the print job will either go pending on the server and never print, or just not show up on the server side at all. Any idea of what's going on?

2.7.3

Hello,

For NW65.7 which iprint.ini file is used? The one in sys:\apache2\htdocs\ippdocs or SYS:\LOGIN\IPPDOCS? I was under the impression that it was the one in apache2. Reason I am asking is the dnsname switch was enabled on the servers print manager and the user's printers got updated this morning but we have iprint.ini file set to all 0s but it is the iprint.ini file in Apache2.

latest iprint nlms on nw65sp7

I dont foresee any problems by doing this.. but just throwing it out there in case. Any gotchas? Dont have the chance to put on Sp8 yet and would like to mess with the latest iprint stuff, particularly HP UPD.

Windows 7 with patched/current iPrint/ndps,etc NOT working 100%

So,, after making sure that patches were applied,
and making sure that all users had the uniqueID
and installing iPrint 5.30 - It looked for a while as if it was
working...but,nope...

Seems that the reason for us getting it to work on the pc's we tested
was that we manually had installed the printers first. If that's the
case, then I can add the printer through IPP.

But, If I remove the manually setup printer, the install fail's with
some windows error. If the driver is allready there and I add it again
as a iPrint printer, it works.

Example;
Printer is on ip 192.100.100.10

NDPSM/Server is on
IP 192.168.100.20

Clean PC
browse to server/ipp - install = fails/windows error.

PC with manually added printer
( 192.100.100.10 )
adding the iPrint printer through
Server/ipp - Install = OK and prints through
192.100.100.10

So,, like it's 2 different printers in "windows p.o.v"

Anyone with any ideas how to get around this ?

Windows DO state the usual about "not signed" etc when adding it
manually, but that question/option never comes when going through
iPrint.

iPrint from NW65 SP5 on Win 7

Good day,

We are in the process of evaluating Windows 7.

The task to get iPrint to work on Windows 7 fell on my shoulders.

The problem I have is that, running iPrint on NW65 SP5, I cannot find a way to load a Windows 7 driver on the broker (I am using iManager Version 2.5.20051102).

I have tried loading iprntnw65sp8b, using both option A and B, but then I ran intro problems where the RMS tab doesn't show the various tabs for XP, Vista, Etc.

Is there any way to get iPrint to work on Windows 7 with our current Netware configuration?

Any help would be grately appreciated.

I know I am asking for the impossible and i KNOW i should update to SP8, but for various reasons, I can't at the moment. Due to legacy business systems we are forced to keep our Netware systems running on NW65 SP5. Yes we are in the process of sorting this out, so we can upgrade. Also I inherited the environment in this state, so nothing I could do to prevent us arriving at this point.

broker keeps abending with win7 drivers

Hi - is anyone else who has installed sp8b-2 having issues with the broker abending when uploading windows 7 drivers and / or restarting the broker after uploading windows 7 drivers? It's a bit of a pain in the backside when it's happening all the time on our production server, when I didn't have any issues during testing. It's definitely exactly the same broker.nlm on both servers.

"could not resolve host name" cosmetic errors

I've applied the iprntnw65sp8b patch to attempt to resolve 2 main problems -

TID 7004356: Printer Agent: 'XXXXXXX', could not resolve host name 'XXXXXXX.company.com'
TID 7002524: "A system error occurred" when trying to create a printer agent through iManager

TID 7002524's issue was fixed from iprntnw65sp8b, however TID 7004356's issue remains. Has anyone else got this issue?

NDPSM Client Interface Bad

Hi,

I have a print manager which is showing errors in the latest client events log:

11/11/09 2:59:56 pm, Operation: Bind to Printer Agent, Selection Error: unknown ,
User Name: rbhattacharjee10_20_175_113AEDB-RBHATTACHA.Workstation Repository.D,
Address: 10.20.175.113,
Object Name: AEDB-HP 2840 Colour

It is referencing an object which no longer exists. When I go onto the users workstation, this printer is not installed but there is a printer port pointing to the printer agent. I have deleted the printer port but next time I check it is back again.

Any idea how to remove it for good and why it hasn't removed it when the printer agent was deleted?

Consolidating the iPrint world here

All,

I'm new to a position in a College envirinment. Two days new as a matter of fact. The folks here are planning to migrate the existing network from a traditional NetWare world to OES2 Linux on VMWare in a brand new NOC.

There are servers spread across the many campuses, that perform file and print sharinf functions. They will be consolodating all those servers into a smaller number of servers performing the same tasks. For exapmple theprint environment on eqch of the servers will be housed on a VMWare, clustered, set of OES2 servers. what they would like is, at the end of the process of centralizing the print world, for the students and staff to have an easier time locating and choosing the printers on their own campus. Now, they navigate to ther local server to choose a printer managed by the print process on their local campus server. After the migration, all printers, 350+ of them, will be managed by a new centralized server in the NOC. So, the quesion is, how to arrange the printers so that a student on Campus A, can locate his local printers in the new considerably longer list of printers. I know I can change the name of the printers to use a scheme so that they are alphabetically grouped together, but that sounds like a visit the desktops kind of weekend, and I'd like to avoid that.

This is new to me, but I'd like to hear suggestions and thoughts. I hope I've made sense.

After applied nw65sp8b-2 for Win 7 support, I cannot use iManager to
manage iPrint driver/broker.

iManager Base Content 2.7.0.20070919
iManager Framework 2.7.3.20090916

iPrint NetWare Management Plug-in 2.7.1.20090722

Then using IE/firefox on vista/xp/win7 access iManager
iPrint -> Manage Broker -> select broker -> RMS-Drivers

All I've only got is "Drivers" under "Drviers" tab.
I cannot select any OS and no drivers shown in "current drivers".

If I try to use "Add from file" or "Add from System", I have got "AnIP
address was not available" dialogue box.

What do I missed?

iPrint support for Win7 - manage Broker

To add iPrint support for Windows 7 for our users, I upgraded our OES Netware Server to OES2 SP1 (Netware 6.5 SP8)
and installed the patch iPrint Win 7 - NW65SP8b-2 following the installation instructions contained in Document ID 5061460.
I followed strictly TID 3424524 to replace the iManager iPrint plug-in.

the following modules are active now:

When accessing
iPrint->Manage Broker->->RMS-Drivers
and then selecting "Windows 7 (32bit)" or "Windows 7 (64-bit)" in the dropdown-list "Drivers Platform"
results in an error page displaying "A page has performed an illegal action."
Selecting other platforms works properly.
(Same error occurs with
Firefox 3.5.5 (on Vista 32-bit and Win 7 64-bit),
IE 8.0.6001.18828 (on Vista 32 bit),
IE 8.0.7600.16385 (on Win 7 64-bit) and
IE 7.0.5730.11 (on Win XP))

Any ideas whats going wrong?

No Vista-driver show up i manager printer

Hi!
i just uploaded a Vista 32bits driver to Broker and it shows up in Broker Vista 32bits drivers.

But if i try to manage one printer to choose the Vista-driver, the list with Vista-drivers is empty. only -None- shows up. XP-drivers and even Linux-driver shows up, but not Vista.
I used Vista Enterprise with iPrint client 5.30

Server is NW 6.5 SP7
Using iManager 2.7.3

client 5.30 - win7 - OS not support

I have successfully installed iPrint client v5.30 on Windows7 enterprise edition.

However I have reports of installation problems on a Windows7 home edition -'Your operating system does not support this version'

Is there a requirement for particular edition of windows7 to run iPrint client v5.30?
