I ran Novell cluster service 1.8.0 on two netware nodes. Then used a pool as cluster resource. I mounted the netware luns in the pool onto a SLES 10 SP2 server(this is my nfs client server) .
Nodes info: Netware 6.5 SP6 *2.
NCS: 1.8.0
NFS client: SLES10 SP2 x86_64.
I follow the steps in "http://www.novell.com/communities/node/3234/nfs-mount-netware-65-volume-sles-server-or-sled-client" to mount my netware volumes onto a SLES client.
After I failover the cluster resource(POOL) to another node, each Lun mapped to the SLES client server get "Stale NFS file handle" error.
Anyone can help me? Thanks in advance.

Hi there everyone....

It´s really nice being able to participate again in the forums... I have the follwing request for Input:

I´m about to start a project to deploy Clustering services, but I´m told, today, the SAN is provided by SUN and it has ZFS, not ZEN for Servers, but a file system provided by SUN called ZFS. I checked Sun Microsystems and Guess what?... It uses storage pools... uhmmm ... NSS alike? :-) . Although it offers a vast range of features that I have not heard of in current posix-based file systems.

What is ZFS? (Community Group zfs.whatis) - XWiki

Has anyone out there worked with such file system and SLES or OES linux, and even better... with Novell Cluster Services. ?

From my short reading, I see no compatibility with SLES so far

Regards.

We want to "move" a clustered volume/pool to a new SAN (seems to be a "standard task" but I did not find anything helpful, yet).

We created a new clustered volume/pool on our new SAN with a different name.
Copied data and trustees with SCMT (Migration utility).
On day X we intended to do a final "delta copy" probably with SCMT again.

Unfortunately there are a lot of references (UNC paths etc) to the old volume name besides homedirectory paths, login scripts...

What is the "right" way to keep the old volume name after having copied the "delta files".

I assume deleting the old volume/pool (after taking offline the resource) on the master node.

Am I wrong?
How to proceed to rename the new volume/pool/cluster resource volume/virtual server back to the old names?
Do all server have to be online?

Thanks

We are looking for advice on how to migrate a NetWare clustered enabled GroupWise 8 PO to OES2sp1 cluster services.

We have a 3-node cluster that we are upgrading both to new hardware and OES2sp1.

We are thinking of doing a rolling migration, where we install an OES2sp1 server with the pre-migration software and migrate the server tag from NetWare to OES2 (server only runs cluster services). Using the Novell Migration tools we can upgrade the server to new hardware and OS while maintaining the existing server name and IP. Next we install cluster services on the OES2sp1 server and add it back to the existing cluster.

We are unable to find documentation on how to migrated a GroupWise NetWare enabled cluster resource to OES2sp1. We have found the "Novell GroupWise Server Migration Utility" documentation, but that only addresses migrating a traditional GroupWise PO from NetWare server to OESsp1 server. Is it the same to migrate a clustered enabled GroupWise PO?

Any advice would be appreciated.
Can you migrate cluster services from one cluster to another?
