Greetings,

I am new to Novell SSO and new to this group, but I have many years
programming experience.

I have to write a login script for a web application that requests
random characters from the users password. For example, it may say
"Please enter the second, fifth and last letters of your password".
There are then 3 input boxes: one for each of the three characters.

I can easily convert words like second, third, ninth etc to 2, 3, and
9. But I have two problem:

1 - I am using RegSplit to get the number_words from the string - but
am having difficulty with the first one because it has a comma
appended (ie, "second," as in the example above). Does anyone have any
advice how to do that?

2 - I have the users password stored as a string, but don't find any
subtring functions in SSO - I need to extract the 2nd, 3rd, and 9th
(to use the previous example - obviously this changes every time) from
the stored password so that they can be presented to the input box.
Any advice on that one would be great too!

Many thanks,

Simon Knights.
[We are using Novell SSO v6.1, if that makes any difference]

Even though it has been uninstalled from all the workstations, the LMS Assistant utility still shows we have 264 Secure Login users. Any help would be appreciated, Thank You

We have set up a Windows 2003 Server as a Print Server and have installed all network printers.

We logon to our local Windows XP SP2 workstations using "Novell Client 4.91 SP4 for Windows" which automatically creates a local Windows account and synch password using Zenworks Desktop Management Agent 6.5.2. We don't have a Windows AD server yet.

We have software running on the print server which captures all print information. It works OK BUT I have to manually create each user on the Print Server and ask them to synch passwords manually. I've tried Windows policy settings but all I've managed to do is create a anonymous logon and the user is identified as Guest in the Print Software, which defeats the purpose.

Does anyone know how to logon to this Windows Application Server using the Novell Logon from the users PC? Using a simple script? I am limited with my Novell as it's a corporate install and I cannot change the Novell versions.

Many thanks in advance.

I am unsuccessfully attempting to get Securelogin 7 rolled out with 1
Application - Oracle. Probably time to just pay a consultant to do it :-).
I have finally gotten the Securelogin 7 client to install consistently via a
NAL install. I created an Oracle app def via the Wizard, as I haven't
learned the language yet. I have the app created and it is associated with
my id and working as expected when I login.

I exported it via iManager 2.7.3's SSO 7.0 plug-in to my desktop to an .xml
file. I am now attempting to 'load' it to our organizational container so I
can associate it to an ou and individual users. When I click the 'import'
button, after browsing to the desktop .xml file I exported, the server login
screen shows a page fault processor exception and apache unloads and I lose
my iManager connection (obviously). I have tried running iManager from 2
different servers with the exact same result.

I have attached the logger screen error that occurs on both servers. I am
able to load tomcat5 back up fine on the servers and get into iManager on
them without a reboot.

Well, I attempted to attach the screenshot, but I can't post this doc if
it's attached. It says:

-------------------------------------
java: Page fault processor exception occurred while executing class
org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap

State of Registers at Processor Exception:

The exception occurred while executing code in: LIBC.NLM (80800000)
The exception occurred while running thread: Java_494 TP-Proce (98D9B1E0)

java: Class org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap exited with status -5

--------------------
Any help on this would be great. I cannot find the error on the Novell
support forums.

Thanks!

April
