We are needing to use an internal DNS server to point to a internal webserver. However, the website also accessible from outside throught Port Forwarding. The external DNS servers point to our public IP address and everything works from outside. However, when we are behind our firewall it doesn't allow us to communicate with the webserver through our external IP address. I believe this is called loopback NAT (or something like that).

Anyways, we need to be able to point a subdomain x.mydomain.com internally. Anybody have any idea how to do this? If I setup mydomain.com as master and add an entry for X then it works... but I can no longer connect to any other subdomains of mydomain.com. Is there a way to specify an A record for just ONE thing and forward everything else?

Thanks,

Hi,

I have a weird problem. When running Windows 7 behind a SLES 11 setup as a router, my downloads stalls and timeouts, no matter where I download from. Connecting the same Windows 7 machine to another router, the problem disappears. When running Windows Vista or Mac OS X behind the SLES 11 router there are no download problems at all.

Can anyone help, please?

Thanks in advance

When I attempt to copy large files (and the size varies), or just a
large collection of files, to a iSCSI mount point the network just locks
up. I have found references to this happening on Ubuntu and that an
updated NDIS Wrapper was needed, but I don't think that is the solution
here.

Anyone have any suggestions? The server is SLES10 SP2. I am afraid to
update it, as it is running ZCM and I have had bad experiences
performing updates once ZCM is installed.

Thanks in advance,
Pat.

I'm running Samba 3.2.7, which is the latest version from openSUSE, as a PDC and have been able to join the machine to my domain but am unable to use and domain users to log on to the machine. I get the error "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed". I've found discussion threads that tell me has been addressed in new releases. But the make instructions for Samba 3.2.15 says for SUSE builds I should use what is available.

Does anyone know if Samba 3.2.15 will correct this issue? If so are there any "gotchas" that I should be aware of when building the 3.2.15 release?

Thank you.

We have a SLES 10.1 box and we have two directories from Windows servers mounted on it. We are using SMB to mount the Windows directories. The entries are in the FSTAB for mounting on startup.

The mount for one of the Windows servers works fine. But the mount from the other one randomly disappears on us about twice a week. If we try to do a UMOUNT {mount point}, it comes back with "device is busy". The only way we can reestablish the mount is to do a UMOUNT -L {mount point} and then either remount it manually or just do a MOUNT -A.

We are trying to determine why this particular mount point keeps disappearing. Any ideas on things that we should be looking at?
