I have a batch file to update a registry key under HKCU. I create a directive bundle and the action is set to "Launch Windows Executable" and I point the command to the batch file. In the Launch Options, it is set as Run Once-for each user that logs in.

It ran once for the first time and did not run when a different user login. I wonder what is the best way to troubleshoot if the bundle launches under different windows login.
Thanks in advance.

ZCM 10 SP2. In the bundle action, I added "registry edit" and I imported the registry file that I want the bundle to add the keys and the registry operation is set up as "Create Always". However, the registry key won't get added to the device (ensure I have incremented the bundle version and ensured the ZCM agent has the correct bundle version). However, if I add the action as Windows Executable and points to a batch file that has one line:

call regedit.exe /s "M:\registry keys\Setting.reg"

the registry keys are updated.

I wonder how can I troubleshoot the issue? Worse case, I can use the batch file to update the registry but I think it would be good to use the ZCM registry option.

Thanks in advance.

I am running ZCM 10 SP2. In order for me to order the bundle install, I created a bundle group and add the bundle in the order that I want the install to happen. On the ZCM agent properties on the managed device, I can see the status of each bundle.

However, on ZCC, I can't see the deployment status of each bundle on the device.

I have tried creating a directive bundle and add the actions to install bundles in the order that I want the install to happen. However, I can only see the status of the "Grouped Bundle" but I don't see the bundle deployment status for each bundle, no in ZCM agent nor ZCC.

If there a way that I can set the bundle installation order but still be able to see the deployment status of each bundle.

Thanks in advance

Hi! I have to deploy on a few computers the software VMware Workstation and/or Player. The installation works well but after the different computers on which the bundle where assign have difficulties to find the server because of the new virtual network cards. So here are my 2 questions:

1- Does anyone know how I can deploy any VMware product with some way to automatically disable these virtual cards?

2- This question concern more the Agent part but I will ask the question anyway. Which is how can I force a computer to only use one IP address to connect to the server? Is it even possible in version 10.2.1?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone, I just created a new Dynamic Workstation Group which simply checks for Workstation name (criteria: Machine - Name) but it's not working properly. It doesn't make a difference if I choose 'contains' or 'equal to' with a '*' in the name.
In one organizational unit it gets just one out of seven, when I try another one it doesn't get any out of three.
Are there any known issues regarding this behavior? Does it depend on the number of registered workstations? (1.400+)

As we are planning to go forward with using Zen 10 to remove administrator rights a number of changes need to be made in our environments. One is stopping users from launching executable from the internet. Some of which are actually launched through the Intranet which is part of the Trusted Zone however we have yet to test if they well be prevented from executing or not, even though they will need to be.

After thinking about this a thought came to me: Is there a way to launch a Bundle via a hyperlink? That is to say if they put on a note on the Intranet saying: "Click here to install the new application" and when clicked, instead of showing the normal web browser download prompt it would instead point to something like "ZCM://Bundles/BobUpgrade".

The reason for this post is because I tried to find out if this already existed, but could not find it. So this first is a question of "Does this idea already exist?" and if not I'll submit it as an enhancement request.

I also think this would be useful even in e-mails. Instead of instructing users to go to a certain area we could just say "Click here to install".

Hello,

Normally if you install/launch a bundle then you see a notification balloon on the agent in the systray like "downloading files for bundle X".
So that users can see that there is something happen when the click on a bundle.

When i logon with a user with a locked desktop (user policy, like force classic menu etc.etc) then these balloons are not enabled. the don't come.

When i logon without a policy then i see the balloons. So I think there is a setting in my user policy that disabled showing the balloons.

There is a setting under Current user > startmenu > remove balloontips from items in startmenu. But i test that and that is not the setting.
Also trying to regedit the HKCU..>explorer>advanced. : enableballoontips = 1 (dword), But when i restart, the setting is overwritten. So i have removed that one.

Question: Which group policy setting is in conflict by not showing me the balloons on the adaptive agent.

Server: ZCM 10.2.1 on Sles10sp2
Client: WXP Sp3 Dutch, Up to date.

I like the balloons instead of the full progress window!

Kind regards

I've tried to find a solution in the KB's but haven't managed. Hope someone can give some good advice...

My problem, as follows.

After renaming a user in our AD, ZCM treats this as a new user when logging in on a client. This leads to uneccessary reinstallations of all bundles that have a InstallOption set to "Install once per user per device".

At ZCM server-level everthing seems fine, the ID-name changes, all bundle-assigments are ok, but locally the client are not aware of the bundles allready being installed.

Is there any way to avoid this?

We're running ZCM 10.2.1 on Win XP clients and W2k3 servers.
