When I try to run the application.. it hangs around what looks like 95% or so in Progress mode. If I turn on "Full" mode and do the Next, Next dance.. then I get:

The following applications are using files that need to be updated by this setup. Close these applications and click Retry to continue.
"Zenworks Desktop Management Agent - InstallShield Wizard"

Um...it needs to close itself.. errr... huh?!?!
Any ideas?

Hi all,

At home, I'm running three OES2 test servers. On one of those servers I installed ConsoleOne 1.3.6.h, GroupWise 8.0.1 and ZDM7 a couple of weeks ago. Everything worked fine. Today I updated this server to OES2 SP2 and SLES10 SP3. After the update I installed ZDM7 SP1 IR4a. No problem at all. But after starting ConsoleOne on this server, a lot of objectst changed to questionmarks, b.e. all of the ZEN objects. It looks or all the plugins / snapins are missing. The question is, did I something wrong, and if so, Is it possible to copy the plugins to somewhere on the server so I can edit my ZEN objects again, or if that's not possibe, is there any way to uninstall ZEN and start over again?

Thanks for any replies on this subject.

Regards,

Mark

I have some laptops (Compaq 6715b laptop and a Macbook Pro) that during the install the zfdagent.msi installer process freezes. This happens on multiple different laptops of the above varieties. Hardware/memory test fine on them. Verified windows xp sp3 is fully updated & OEM drivers are the latest, even tried latest vendor specific drivers for nic/video/etc. Date on the zfdagent.msi is 9/15/09, so it should be the one from ZDM7SP1IR4_HP1.zip. No previous version of zfdagent currently installed.

Seems to work fine on other laptops & desktops, just the above are giving this issue.

Included is a zip of the installer log produced by

I've got ZFD7S1IR3AHP3 installed on all servers. Went to upgrade to ZDM7SP1IR4 and get an error message ZDM 7 upgrade halts with "stop Sybase" when Sybase is NOT running. I've renamed mgmtdbs.ncf, Zenworks.properties and the Zenworks directory. The install does not find the sysbase, but I continue to get the error that it must be stopped. I've tried the troubleshooting steps in TID(3485363), but I continue to get the error message. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Zenworks client and login slowdown

Hi all

We are having an issue which seems to be Zenworks client-related.

Some of our users are having a major delay during login. The issue is not happening to everyone. The sequence of events is:

- turn on machine
- login screen appears (35 seconds)
- fill in password and press ENTER (2 seconds)
- wait up to 4 minutes for desktop to appear

During the wait for the desktop, we can see that the disk is being thrashed.

If I remove the antivirus product the wait is shorted by 30%. If I remove the Zenworks for Desktops client, the wait is shortened by 90%.

I've pared down the Zen desktop installation to only the NAL and Workstation Management (which are the only two we *have* to have) and the problem persists. If I remove and reinstall ZFD without the Workstation Management component, the problem is gone. I have tried XP SP2 and SP3 to see if there is any difference there - nothing significant.

I am pretty sure something is going wrong with the Workstation Management component. (I think also that the antivirus product is making it worse but that is another story)

I'm downloading the latest Zen 7 ISO's right now in case I've missed a client update. I'm not sure how to tell the Workstation Manager's version number, but the NAL is 7.0.1.4.

I don't really know what to look at from a server perspective.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can further troubleshoot?

I dont know what to call this, so we'll go with "linked". Anyways, I came in today and Remote Control wasnt working on any of our workstations. I checked the workstation policy (which is associated correctly) and all of the policies within the package are unchecked. I only use maybe 2-3 in each package, but some say "Policy not enabled" and some say "N/A" under the Schedule column. Weird thing is if I open ConsoleOne with the -showhiddenobjects option, all the individual policies are there and I can open/edit them, but they dont seem to be linked with the policy package. This is happening almost district-wide with only a handful that are correct.

I tried to run an NDSRepair on multiple servers that hold master replicas and all return no errors found. We are running OES2 SP1 on SLES 10 SP2 and have Zenworks 7 SP1 IR4.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks-
