Default what release of SUSE to study for CLP/ CLE?

I'm thinking about possibly studying for the CLP (and maybe later the CLE) certification. The descriptions of the SUSE Linux certifications seem to say they are mainly based around SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10. It seems to be advisable to set up a home lab if I want to attempt the CLP by self study from books (or possibly even if I attend Novell's courses). So presumably I would need a licensed copy of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 for my home lab? Or is SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 or even OpenSUSE 10 going to be adequate for the home lab and practicing Practicum exercises, etc? (By the way, I don't have access to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server at work. I believe we mainly use either SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop or OpenSUSE because I am in a department in a university on a tight budget.)
