Pepping for Exam - need clarification

I am prepping for the exam and I could use some clarification on a few questions. These should all be kosher for this forum:

1.) Is tab-completion enabled? Is there a special key-combo that you need to use b/c they are virtual consoles?
2.) Is GNOME used, or KDE?
