I installed 11.2rc2 over the weekend. Very nice.
It actually feels like something you would pay for.
First time I've ever felt that way about a Linux
desktop. I'm using the KDE desktop (of course).
Not a power machine either. P4@2.4 1GB memory,
32MB nVidia PCI (not PCIe) video card. Desktop effects
work but I don't use them.
I did download and compile the nVidia drivers (173legacy version) to get the
more advanced nVidia configuration tools because the LCD panel I am using
has a problem with its brightness controls, but the packaged default driver
worked fine.
