Default Novell to Microsoft Migration Issue

I am currently trying to gather information on a possible Novell (Mainly NetWare) to Microsoft migration. I have a new boss and computer tech within the school district and they are wanting to move away from Novell because as my boss puts it "Microsoft is the way of the world". I on the other hand am a Certified Microsoft Tech with some 14 years of field work experience who moved into the SE's position for this school district two and a half years ago. At that time we reviewed whether moving to MS was a good idea, especially considering my background. We both came to the same conclusion. To much money to move that direction and if it isn't broke why screw with it. I have grown to enjoy my Novell network especially the GroupWise and ZENworks portions which have been a god send when working on servers.

What I am looking for is any information that might help me when meeting with the "powers that be" on why moving away from Novell is a bad idea. In the past I have been able to show cost savings as the main reason. For some reason now I am being told by my boss that we would actually save money yearly in moving to MS. I can't believe that but need to see hard numbers on this. Can anyone direct me to information that might help me in future meetings. More then likely I am fighting a loosing battle with him but I want to at least make an effort to do the right thing for the school district.

Thanks

Rich
