Default Re: GroupWise as Case Management Software

I think it would all depend on how in depth your case management needs are. If you want to simply use it for document storage and categorization, you can set up a series of find results folders within a case specific GroupWise account and use that account to keep the calendar of dates for depositions etc, notes or a to do list. What we have done here is create a group specific account for each practice area and they use it for those needs, with the entire department having proxy access (some read only, others full rights).
It breaks down very simply into the account for each practice with folders created for each case where email is stored. There are a series of folders under that for the different types of documents (memos, pleadings, filings etc.) and from there, the end users add anything else that they may need. As I stated, the calendar is used for scheduling depositions, appointments, court dates etc.

I have also been trying to develop a bridge between our billing DB and the document library to auto populate document field choices with client/matternumbers and responsible attorney for each case but thus far it has been fruitless.
We are using Summation for the bulk of our case management and document production/review needs due to the size of the productions received as well as sent.

Subject: GroupWise as Case Management Software
We have a small practice in Jacksonville, Florida, and we have been using
GroupWise for our e-mail, calendaring and document management for several
years (since the demise of Soft Solutions). One of our partners would
like us to invest in case management software, such as Client Profiles or
Practice Master. Another partner feels we are possibly not using
GroupWise to it's fullest potential, and that perhaps GroupWise can be
used as a case management system like those I mentioned above. Does
anyone know of any firms currently using GroupWise in that capacity, or if
GroupWise can even be used in that manner effectively?

Any information anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank
you.
