3072 - Configuring Syslog and Logrotate

I'm going through the selfstudy for 3072 and I got hung up on the Syslog/logrotate lab.

When following the step by step instructions, I am configuring syslogging to output local4.debug ,local4.info, and local4 to various log files. Then, after running SuSEconfig, I performed the command to pipe a message out. It shows in /var/log/localmessages but not /var/log/local4.info or /var/log/local4.debug

As a result, I cannot proceed with the logrotate excercize. Has anyone been through this?
