When you maximize a portlet it takes the entire page, the other portlets
will not be on a page.

For some portlets you can have them expand to take the entire region of
the shared page, but it depends on the portlet preferences. These
preferences typically have settings for width and height.

No, not for the framework.

But for some of the portlets I think the source is shipped with the
product. If my memory serves me right.
