Hi!
Perhaps one of the Novell engineers could answer this for me, because I've been wondering for a long time, and can't seem to find an answer on Google.
What does the "official" build environment/process look like for the core NetWare kernel as of 6.5 SP8, and which compiler/version is used to build the OS? MetroWerks? Watcom? OpenWatcom?
I assume that almost everything except the Bash parts are built from Windows. Where do the nwsdkc bits live on a real developer's system for an OS build?
I know a person can download the nwsdkc bits, and that they normally get installed into some variation on C:\Novell\sdk, but I've never seen them installed into the same place on any two projects, not even in sample code from Novell!
So, assuming such information isn't under NDA, I'd be most thankful if someone who knew would be kind enough to explain what the build process and environment look like for building NetWare (especially version 6.5 SP8), even though I know Novell is moving (or has moved) primary development over to
OES/Linux.
Many thanks in advance!!
