GW 8.0.3 HP1 POA indexes even when QF indexing is disabled
Upgraded from GW 8.0.2 to 8.0.3 HP1 couple weeks ago (NetWare 6.5 sp8). We had setup separate indexing POAs on different servers for our 4 Post Offices, which means that each Post Office has 2 POAs - a POA (let's call it POA-1) on the server where the message database is stored and a POA (let's call it POA-2) on a separate server configured to only do indexing. This appeared to be working fine prior to 8.0.3 update - in other words we did not notice any indexing of documents going on on the POA-1 while POA-2 was busy indexing all the time and had nothing to do with message processing. We needed to set it up this way because without a dedicated indexer, indexing would fall way behind and the searches would get slower and slower in Groupwise (400GB message store).
Now what we are seeing is that POA-1 flips into indexing mode every now and then, but only for documents. On the other hand, at the beginning of each log file it states clearly that Quickfinder Indexing is "disabled", which does reflect our settings in Console One for POA-1 and we even placed a /noqf line in the startup file, which did not seem to make any difference.
Any clues as to what might be going on here? Thanks.
