Mostly the same, but there are some differences in terms of extending the schema. Also, you have to
use iManager to configure it (except for filtering), so be sure you have a working iMan 2.6 or later
installation.

I have a Lite version of my BMgr 3.x book on the 3.9 CD, under the documents/craig johnson directory.
There is installation help in there.
