What it means is that you can pass authentication requests through to
another directory (via ldap) instead of having to use the internal eDir
tree on the server.
I have examples in my BMgr 3.x book showing this. I used a second
internal eDir tree for the examples, but it would essentially be the
same using Active Directory as the target.
