ldap not work with web apps

Please help,

I have a web apps which could authenticated through ldap to my server when
I use the ldap proxy user. It does not authenticate when I use any other
user within edirectory. Is it because the ldap proxy user does not have
password requirement. How do I enable my ldap so that I could
authenticate through any user within edirectory.
