Default eDirectory Security on NTFS Directories

I am trying to figure out the best way to apply eDirectory security to NTFS directories. I am running Netware 6.5 SP6 for file services and GroupWise 7 for email, but I still have Windows based client server apps that have to run on Windows servers. I have these servers running as virtual machines atop Novell Suse Enterprise Server 10. These apps also require the sharing on application directories. So far, I have had to create duplicate user local user accounts in order to protect these shares. I would like to user the central accounts that I have stored in eDirectory.

I know about the IDM solutions that Novell sells and have consider this however, if I go that route I will have to by Microsoft CALs for all of the users in my environment just so that I can get this one need meet. I would rather manage only eDirectory rather then both eDirectory and an AD.

I also know about OES 2 Domain Services for Windows...but is not here yet.

For this one purpose, does anyone have a simple solution. Maybe I could build an NT domain or maybe even a SAMBA DC to emulate a domain?
