8.7.3. sp10b
Having seen the security alert on LDAP, and the advice to install 8.7.3 sp10b to correct, I dutifully downloaded the NW and Linux versions.
I had previously installed sp10 and sp10a. Then did the DSrepair substition for the "a" bug.
Now, having installed this on my first NW server, it seems there seems to be no difference in the version numbers shown by DSrepair screen in Netware, for either DS or DSrepair.
Side by side comparion of the install files shows that most files are exactly the same. Even the LDAP files, which one could assume were the subject of the security notice, are, or appear to be, the same.
Why do I need to bother with this update, when the only change appears to be the version number shown in NWconfig and maybe the rpm database, in linux?
Reading thru the info at "http://www.novell.com/documentation/edir873/sp10_readme/netware/readme.txt", purported to be the latest info, with the resolved issues listed, one cannot decipher what changes apply to sp10b, specifically.
