Hi all,

I'm working with a NW6.5/sp4a eDir 8.7.3.7 (10554.24) box. This is the
only server in a tree.

As far as I can understand by reading some Novell documents, the LDAP
proxy user must have a blank password.

For instance, from TID 10060019...

"There is a difference between "No Password" and a "Blank Password."
Instead of choosing "No Password", go to create a password and leave it
blank instead. This will then generate a public and private key for
the Proxy User object. You will then need to assign that user back to
the LDAP GROUP and UNLOAD NLDAP and then LOAD NLDAP. Anonymous access
will now be available and the Proxy User will Login."

But when I try to create such a blank password either with iManager or
ConsoleOne, a -216 ERROR (An attempt was made to change a password with
fewer characters than the required minimum specified for the account)
appears.

I'm not able neither to change the required minimum length to zero.

I'm pretty sure I'm misunderstanding something, but I'm not able to
find it :-(

Please, how can I create a blank password for the LDAP proxy user?
