Edirectory - oid ldap sync

hello

I need to write a tool which synchronizes changes from edirectory to oid... (only in this direction)

I found this:

which can be used in a java client which gets notified on every change....

but the problem is that when this java client dies and something is changed in the edirectory this change would be lost..

on every change the java client gets it should get a change number
but with my edirectory that is not the case...

i thought that if I had the change number of the latest change my client received before it died maybe I could request all changes since that change number when the client starts up again...


i don't have much knowledge about edirectory or ldap so maybe this is not possible...
but then persistent search could not really be used for synchronisation like stated in the link i posted above


any ideas / hints?
