eDirectory upgrade plan

We have a eDirectory tree that holds user accounts for an externally
facing web application. Both the hardware and eDirectory software need
to be upgraded.

I'd like to share what I'm thinking of for a upgrade plan and request
any comments, concerns or gotcha's that might be applicable.

Current Environment:
Tree: Only one partition
Server1 – eDir 8.7.1 / Windows 2000 / Master replica
Server2 – eDir 8.7.1 / Windows 2000 / Read\Write replica

Plan:
1.Install eDirectory 8.8.5 onto Windows 2003 server and add it to the
tree with R/W replica.
2.Install eDirectory 8.8.5 onto second Windows 2003 server and add it to
the tree R/W replica.
3.Designate new 8.8.5 server as Master Replica
4.Point application at new servers and test.
5.Uninstall eDirectory from old servers and remove from tree.
