Default Upgrading from 2.22.2 to 2.24.5 worth it and how?

Hi,
I have been using Evolution for the past year. Having Vista at my office but Evolution running at home on an XP PC, I am really pleased with its speed etc.

Firstly, should I bother to upgrade, I basically use Evolution for mail and calendar?

If Yes, can someone please explain how I should upgrade my Evolution without me losing all my previous stuff. I have the downloaded 2.24.5 files but don't know which to click etc.

I am not that familiar with all the command line stuff and the threads on Gnome etc are blurb to me. I cannot find any simple documentation explanation on how to upgrade Evolution.

I know I am supposed to do something with bonobo/server etc, but even that seems beyond me so I regularly just go into task manager and end the bonobo process to be able to get Evolution to work. I really don't want to have to get back to Outlook, but Evolution is not really working that well with the constant "not-responding" messages.
Any advice thankfully received
John
