cannot attach file from network

this often happens if the file you are trying to attach is within a log directory structure.

I have a 291K MS word document called on my network in a remote folder

When I try to attach it to an email, nothing happens. However, if I copy it from that folder to my desktop, it attaches and sends just fine. I am positive that I've attached things from the network before no problem.

running gw 6.5.7.
