Default Sent Items Folder with Red Flag: sent messages do not appear within

I’m using GroupWise version 6.5.4. Sent emails do not appear in my “Sent
Items” folder and there is also a red colored flag to the left of the Sent
Items folder. Are the two related and is there a way to correct this?
Please advise. Thanks.
