Users can't connect to WebAccess via SSL using IE

I just upgraded my server from NW5.1 sp8 to NW6.5 sp6. WebAccess was working fine from any browser while using the Novonx web server. The OS upgrade upgraded to Apache2 and Tomcat. It appears to be working correctly. I can connect via SSL when on our internal network. There is no delay. When connecting from an external network I can connect using Firefox or using Safari from a MAC, but there is a significant delay. IE will not connect at all. It will eventually just give up with no error message.
