Default Outlook 07 & Groupwise 7 - DEP problem

I recently purchased an iPhone and I am trying to sync it with Outlook 2007. Up until now I have used Groupwise for all of my email/calendar/contact needs. Outlook seems to sync with Groupwise fine and transfer all of the necessary infor, however everytime I open Outlook I get an error message that says "Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP) has closed the Microsoft Windows Search Protocol Host." Once Outlook is open it runs painfully sluggish and often freezes. I added Outlook to the DEP's safe programs however the Searchprotocolhost.exe is not allowed to be added. Are these two issues even related and if so how do I solve it?
