Msg and User DB Corruption

Hi folks,

I need your help!! Here's our current situation:

Constant corruption in msg and user databases. Users are losing messages. We are running GW 7.0.1 06-13-06 on Win 2K3. The same server is also running an MTA and a GWIA (primary IMAP server) version 7.0.1 16-13-06. We also have other post offices under different domains running 7.0.1.

Background:
The problems started when we tried to upgrade the agents on that server to 7.0.3. Once done, users under the other 7.0.1 post offices could no longer access the IMAP server. We reverted all the agents to 7.0.1 and the corruption started happening.

Question:
What we want to do is upgrade the POA and MTA on the problematic server to 7.0.3 then run structure and contents check. Going to backups is not an option at this point.
Question 1 is: will this eliminate the corruption??
Question 2 is: will the other 7.0.1 agents talk to the 7.0.3 agents???

I know that the optimal solution is to upgrade all agents to 7.0.3 but this is not possible for at least another week. We need to eliminate the corruption ASAP. Anybody have any other suggestions??

The other scenario we are looking at is to create another post office on a separate server and migrate the users. We will lose some mail but this should stop the corruption.
