Default How to create a GW7 system on Windows 2000 Server

Hi Folks,

as a newby to Groupwise server I need to install a test system running GW 7 on a - yes! - Windows 2000 server.

Following the documentation I installed a W2K SP4 including latest patches into a VMWare Virtual Machine. (This runs nicely and without to much ressources, btw.)

But, after starting the setup procedure via Groupwise DemoShield by choosing "Create/Update Groupwise System" and accepting the license terms, the installation fails.
The message claims about a missing "Netware Client". ("Fehler: 'Sie müssen diese Installation auf einer Maschine ausführen, auf der der NetWare-Client installiert ist.'")

This was never told as a requirement in the docs nor is there a link from where it is downloadable?

What is this Netware Client good for if there is no Netware nor Open Enterprise Server at all?

Is a domain controller needed instead of?

Where can I find actual step-by-step instructions that lead me to install a basic system that runs the fundamental groupware functions like mail, calendar, task list and dcument store and is able to send/receive outbound mails?

Thanks for your comments and advice.

Best regards
/Ralf
