Frequent Contact Cleanup

Can anyone explain the Frequent Contact list Cleanup process?
We have a lot of calls where an address going to the Internet is wrong.
(and sometimes an internal address from a GWIA name change we did awhile back.)
Is there a cleanup process the System does or can do?
