groupwise 5.5 mailbox management

so would you guys say that my best bet to manage users mailboxes would be to
use
the "Groupwise client options" tool?
and "Environment Options:"?
and use Mail and Phone to delete e-mails that are not sitting in the trash
folder, instead sitting in the users mailbox or in folders they've created?
and use the emtpy trash feature to clean up their trash faster.
