Unable to remove contact on Palm

Hi,

A user has ton of contacts on his Tréo and want to delete all of them
from a specific Palm categorie / Groupwise Adress Book.

He deleted all entries on the GW adress book and made a sync. Contacts
were still on his Palm.
Then he forced to replace Palm entries for those from the server and
synced. result : Contacts were still on his Palm and GMS put all
contacts to the GW adress book back.
Is that a bug?
