ActiveSync Blackberry

I'm a newbie when it comes to mobile software. My agency is looking for a software program that will support a variety of phones, ie Blackberry, iPhone, Nokia, Palm, etc. I've been reading information about NotifyLink and it looks like it will do the job. What about the new ActiveSync program? I've read were it will support almost all handhelds, but not seeing anything about Blackberry. If we go with the new Activesync program, would we need a separate program for Blackberry, like BES.
