API41 not delivering after upgrade to 8.0

We upgraded our Groupwise system to v8.0 over the weekend. We have an API4.1 gateway that is connected to a mainframe. After upgrading from 7.0.3 to 8.0, the API is no longer processing inbound messages. The mainframe is still uploading the messages into the API_IN and ATT_IN folders but when the gateway tries to process them, it reports "unknown destination in address string" followed by the recipient's userid (with no attached domain -- JGOSNEY instead of JGOSNEY@GENESCO.COM). It then places the message files in the GWPROB folder.

I'm sitting on hold with Novell support waiting for a tech to pick up but thought maybe I could get an answer on the forums just as fast.

This is a production system and production is halted while we are trying to resolve this problem
