iChain and IE getting a 504 in authentication

iChain and LDAP is working. This works with all other browsers (FF2&3, Safari, etc).

With IE7 or 8 we go to a web page without an issue, when we try to get to a secured part of the web site we get the authentication window pop up (normal and looks good). We can put in correct info and we immediately get a 504 timeout error.

Same procedure with any other browser works great. This was all working fine until a power substation fried and power went down for a couple hours. Now IE will not work, ARGH!

Any ideas where to even look?????
