Dear Group,
This note is to formally announce the availability of Designer version 3.5. Some of you in this forum have already discovered this new version of Designer product and have begun using it. Designer 3.5 has been released to coincide with Roles Based Provisioning Module (RBPM) version 3.7. I would like to thank people on this forum who have contributed to this Designer release by providing their valuable inputs and feedback. We look forward to your continued support. The following are high-lights of features available in this release:
* RBPM 3.7 support is provided by:
- easy migration from prior versions of RBPM to version 3.7
- a new team editor
- beta version of resource editor
- support for resource binding activity in resource approval workflow
* Support for project staging: One of the often repeated feedback was the pain experienced in moving projects from one environment to another. For example, moving project from development to production. We have achieved this by providing for:
- export of objects from LDIF file to ID Vault and vice-versa thereby persisting objects that are not modeled in Designer
- storage of security equivalences in LDIF and subsequent association of such equivalences with drivers
- enhanced support for GCV merging capabilities
- comparison of two different schemas thereby identifying differences between environments like development and production.
* Modeler palette now supports new drivers like ADAM and SAP drivers
* Designer 3.5 has been optimized and is now a RCP application. We are sure you will experience performance improvements on your large projects.
* Structured GCVs for additional flexibility and better grouping of global configurations.
