Retrieving labels from lists.

I have built a global list in the DAL for Countries in which the "value"
of the list is the two character country code and the "Label" is the full
country name. I have a frild in a request form that is a global list type
and pulls the data from the "Countries" global list.

When I use the getValue() method from a workflow to get the selected value
in the field, I can only get the value or country code. Is there any way
to get the Label or Text of the selected country? (Example,if the user
selects United States, the value is US, I want the Label also, "United
States")

I am also willing to send the list to anyone who wants it so they don't
have to re-key it in.
