Default rfc2596ish functionality?

Hello,

I am considering the possibility of implementing a rfc2596'ish
functionality in user app.

The rfc, which is not implemented in eDirectory (probably because the
schema is flexible), states that one could have language specific values
for attributes.

I was considering, making a new multivalued attribute, and having a
syntax like, for example title, in different languages, represented in
this way

xtitle=@en=Construction Worker
xtitle=@dk=Bygningsarbejder
xtitle=@de=Bauarbeiter

Will I in the user application, be able to
1) Detect the language used
2) In the portlets, say for example a detail portlet, be able to select
the right language attribute, depending on the language (hopefully)
detected.

3)Or am I way off course, and should consider implementing a similar
functionality in another way? If so, any ideas to how this might be done?
