Default Ifolder and NSS volumes

I recently installed iFolder onto a new OES 2 /SLES 10 Sp2 server and when I changed the data path from the default /var/simias/data directory to one that is residing on the NSS volume /media/nss/VOL1/simias/data I am unable to access the iFolder service. When accessing with a regular user I keep getting incorrect username and password, and for the admin page I get your user session has been closed Please Log in. If I leave things on the default location it seems to work fine. Is there any reason why this cannot be ran from an NSS volume? That is where I would like to run it from since I have a great deal more space on my NSS volume rather than the local /var directory. Thank you very much for any assistance that can be offered.
