NW 5.0 - Error Writing to the Directory

Hi,

I was using my NW 5.0 server as a backup server to my NW 4.1 server, but my NW 4.1 server became "flakey" so the NW 5.0 server has been upgraded to my production server. It went into service this morning. Users logged in, all worked as usual, no users could tell the difference.

I then decided to start copying over files from the old server (server1) to the NW5.0 server (server2). The server hung and I got the following message: "error writing to the directory on server2/data". I needed to reboot the server and users to get everyone back in.

Its working OK now, but I hesitate to do a large memory intensive job until all users are out of the server tonight.

It is a small network, only 7 users, all using Windows XP. We are running on the IPX side. We were using NW4.1 for years and years without any such problems.

Any ideas what this is and how to fix this problem?
