NDS changes must always be made while all possible servers are online. I don't know where this meme comes from, that taking an NDS server offline will help somehow, but I wish it would die ...

On server A, load nwconfig - directory sevices, and try to remove it. If it errors out, unload nwconfig and load it nwconfig -DSREMOVE and do the remove again, you will get errors but be allowed to continue.

Then on Server B load dsrepair -A and remove server A from all replica rings, make sure B is Master of all rings, and then run a local repair. Use ConsoleOne to delete al objects relating to server A, such as the server itself, volumes, print queues, licenses, etc etc.
