First, yes I tried posting my question on the QB support forums - no response at all!!
Second, apparently QB dropped support for Novell, so installation is limited to putting the license server on the NW5.1 server and the actual databases are on a shared Windows computer -- not much point in even using the Novell server. I wanted to move the databases over to the Netware volume so it was a true networked version and I would have control over nightly backups.

Sorry I've not had to setup QB in about 6 years.
Does the QB server actually share the account information or run a license server or are all the QB clients simply opening the QB file from a file share on your NW server?
If your thinking can you run the QB executable (.exe) on the NW server locally you are out of luck, Novell uses a different type of binary executable called NLM's which I would put dime to dollar QB will not write.
It took them years just to make a Mac version of QB that was usable (I switched to MYOB because of it)
