Making Novell login mandatory
I finally managed to achieve an automatic login into Windows after the Novell client screen pops up. There are lots of helpful threads and TIDs about it, but I used a wrong data type* for AutoAdminQueryNDS, not my "most brightest" idea. I would like to add some things and have no clue how to do that. Let me start with my setup.
Windows XP SP3, Novell Client 4.91SP5. I use different Novell accounts with a Netware 5.1 server and only one predefined Windows user. Let me call the Novell accounts Nov1, 2, etc. and my Windows user Win1. I added the registry keys, so the Novell client shows, I hack my Nov1 and password into it, Win1 fires up automatically, all systems go.
But I would like to prevent login to Windows without the Novell login and only with Win1 at all. I don't see a chance to do that with a default Windows User, right? Or is it possible to disable "Only workstation" somehow? And if this is possible, how to switch to another Windows user like Administrator at all?
Another problem seems to be easier to solve. I would like to stick to the Win1 as my default Windows user, even after switching to e.g, Administrator for, well, administrative duties. I think I need to change the right for the registry setting DefaultUserName from Write to Read Only, but this gives me headache. Is there another way to let the Novell client remember only Win1?
*It has to be a DWORD, everything else like AutoAdminLogon & ForceAutoLogon is Reg_SZ. Thanks to Alan Adams for advice.
