Upgrade 4.11SP9 to 5.1 and no one can log in

Hi,

I'm at a loss. I had a functional 5.1 SP3 server DS8.77 master and a functional 4.11SP9 server with RW replica. Goal was to remove IPX from network (for wan transport purposes). Upgraded 4.11 server to 5.1 by copying data off, and doing clean install of 5.1. Install went OK. Copied data back to new server, then used trustee.nlm to restore previously backed up trustee directory / file rights and IRM's. Used same server & volume names as before. People could not log in reliably, sometimes it would work, sometimes not. Applied SP8 To server holding master. Now no one can log in, and even admin has limited rights. Our novell support person did the install so I believe that he removed the replica from the first server and joined the new server to our existing tree properly. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
