Normally no.
In general, the data needs to be restored to the same type of File System as
from the one it was backed up from.
The Issue is not so much as NDS as the target file system for your restore.

I would recommend checking with your backup software vendor.
You could also specify here what version of backup software you are using
and the OS it is running on.
Folks here could likely give you a good idea as well.
